September 2, 2009 was the date I met my dance shop teacher Miss Mack. Before I walked into the dance studio I thought I was going to meet an old skinny woman with a horrible attitude. I imagined the teacher to have grayish black hair pulled back into a bun with a face as if she ate a spoiled lemon.
When I arrived into the class I started to look for a witchlike type of person. Instead I found a young woman with a pink Mac Book sitting on a chair with the student dancers surrounding her. The teacher had shoulder length brown hair and seemed a little hyper. She was introducing her self. She said “hi I’m Miss Mack”. I had an internal laugh thinking it was funny that my new teacher was Miss Mack with a Mac.
After she talked about her self she did attendance. The teacher called my name Herdrick Duvert. I Was surprised because most American teachers cannot pronounce my first and last name. They usually state my name as Hendrick Duvert. Most of the time I get aggravated because my name has an r not an n and my last name is supposed to be said as DuVare like green in French vert.
A few weeks passed and she taught us how to get rid of our old horrible dance habits. We wrote what we have to work on and our goals. She made us clean up the studio and gave us donuts the very next day. So far Miss Mack is a nice lady but I cannot be sure until the middle of the year (lol).
